There is a different energy as you approach the absolute gem that is Aiyanna beach restaurant, tucked naturally into beautiful Cala Nova as if it had grown organically from the cove and the forest. The north of Ibiza has a different vibe to the faster pace in the south of the island. Stunning unspoilt beaches and pine forests, quiet winding roads that decompress you, a feeling of relaxation and tranquillity that only increases as you enter Aiyanna. Here, there is no need to rush.

The terrace and restaurant blend naturally into the landscape with pale wooden tones, natural textures, beautiful handcrafted details and colourful Guatemalan parasols sitting effortlessly among the palms and pine trees that lead to the subtle path down to the warm waters of Cala Nova. The space and design are deeply rooted in the relationship between art, nature, sensory harmony, and the surrounding environment of Ibiza. Aiyanna’s design concept was shaped by Mauricio, whose creative style is inspired by the connection between art, nature, and the unique atmosphere of Ibiza.

His approach is all about designing spaces that feel effortless and in tune with their surroundings — places where natural materials, texture, light, and atmosphere come together to create a calm, relaxed sense of wellbeing. Where else could you dine on fine food feeling gently part of the landscape, just feet from the sand and the sea?

The seamless transition between nature, the Mediterranean and the local environment continues with the food: high-quality, often locally sourced and seasonal, fresh vegetables from Aiyanna’s own garden – an attention to sustainability that saw Aiyanna become the first restaurant in the Balearics to receive Biosphere recognition. Cocooned in a sanctuary in the northern quarter of the island, Aiyanna offers a welcome retreat from the intensity and saturation of the south: a spot to linger and savour good food, unspoiled nature and timeless beauty.

A vibrant and creative menu that has many stand-out dishes that fuse Mediterranean flavours with influences from the middle-east, Asia and Latin-America: the Veal Rib Tagliata served with saffron parmentier, courgette and Parmesan salad, dressed with a calamansi vinaigrette is outstanding. Risotto “A Banda” and whole wild scarlet shrimp in rich red Mediterranean crustacean fumet is a must and we loved San Marzano tomato tartare with a lightly pickled dressing.

For those who enjoy signature drinks and creative cocktails, a Slow Breeze seems appropriate: a heady mix of sloe gin, Martini Vibrante, beetroot cordial, homemade strawberry syrup and vegan foam, the eclectic cocktail sums up the playful, creative side of the restaurant perfectly. Those of a more rebellious bent might prefer the Canon Felix, a vodka, lemon and strawberry concoction that tips its cap to a hero of the French resistance.
