Having just opened its doors in April, Can Pádel has already become a must-visit destination. Founded by José Boned and co-managed by Andy Marí, the club blends sport, community and lifestyle in a stunning natural setting. We spoke to Andy to learn more about the spirit behind the project.

How did Can Pádel come about? Have you always wanted to run a club?

The idea grew from a shared passion with José Boned for both padel and the island. We wanted to create a space where padel is more than just a game and turn it into a complete experience. We’ve focused on top-tier facilities, an inclusive approach and a tight-knit community. Plus, with Joan Boned heading up our restaurant, we’ve added a culinary touch that rounds out the whole experience.

Since my early days at Club de Campo and through other padel clubs, I naturally got involved in management. But this project is different – it’s more personal. My goal is simple: to make Can Pádel the leading reference for padel on Ibiza.

What sets the club apart?

Its natural setting, the quality of the facilities and the authentic Ibizan vibe that surrounds it. Everything’s designed so that people feel like part of the family – from the way they’re welcomed by the team to the experience on court and in the restaurant.

How has the reception been so far?

Fantastic. The mix of sport, social life and great food has been really well received. People appreciate that Can Pádel is more than just a place to train – it’s a place to connect. Beyond the game, it’s a real meeting point.

What kind of social and sporting experience are you aiming to offer?

We run weekly events like “Montadito Thursdays” and “Padel & Tonic Fridays”, combining sport, music and food. We want to make coming to the club a way to relax and have fun as well.

What have you learned throughout your career that you share with students?

Padel isn’t just about technique – it’s about mindset, adaptability and enjoying the journey. Every player has their own style, and my job is to help them build on it while staying true to who they are.

And your goals going forward?

To keep creating experiences for all audiences, organize original events and make sure that everyone who visits feels that Can Pádel offers something truly different.

How do you see the future of padel on the island?

Very bright. Demand is growing, the level of play is improving and infrastructure is expanding. Ibiza has a great future in this sport and Can Pádel is proud to be part of that journey.

What would you say to someone thinking about trying padel?

Just give it a go. It’s easy to pick up, super fun and a great way to unwind.
