A great design is more than just bright colours and stunning visuals; it’s the ultimate combination of human psychology, art, technology, culture and business. Great designs help you feel a sense of familiarity in an uncertain world and Ibiza is an absolute mecca for outstanding creative and unique design. One of the most striking aspects of this island’s design landscape is its architecture; from traditional whitewashed buildings to avant – garde modernist structures, Ibiza seamlessly fuses the old with the new. Whether it’s a sleek modern villa overlooking the sea, a bohemian boutique selling handcrafted textiles, a sleek futuristic yacht moored out at sea or a natural pond swimming pool nestled in the hills – design in Ibiza isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about enhancing the overall experience.
Can Pep
Designed by the legendary Stefan Meier and winner of the Pondy ‘Best Pond Award 2023’, this wonderful natural swimming oasis can be found in the sprawling grounds of film maker and author Rebecca Frayn’s north Ibiza home. The pool has an ecological lining, is finished with lime and was full of frogs and dragonflies within a day of filling it with water from her spring. Beside acting as a highly effective carbon sink, migrating water birds often stop by and it will also be involved in the scheme to reintroduce the yellow toad to Ibiza. Life changing.
