Have you ever eaten a manoushe? We hadn’t until we tried one of Kadchi’s Arabic-inspired flatbreads: oregano, thyme, sesame, sumac? Delicious. Not quite a pizza, but something marvellous in its own right. If that has your taste buds singing introduce them, afterwards, to the chicken shawarma plate: fresh chicken breast marinated in a special sauce and slowly grilled to perfection.
And we don’t know about you, but once we see words like tabouleh, fatush, falafel and mezza on a menu we are triggered into mouth-watering anticipation. Prepare to be surprised and delighted by dish after spectacular dish, Kadchi offers a delightful, modern take on Middle Eastern authentic sharing plates: a joyful riot of flavours and textures, fragrant with spices and the freshness of herbs and citrus, as beautiful as they are delicious.
The cuisine is a happy harmony of several different cultures with great varied menu: superb salads, perfectly cooked meats from the grill and oven. Start with one complimentary welcome drink and freshly made bread served with home-made labneh, then simply jump to msajan, a really delicious dish (we think of Palestinian origin) of shredded chicken, onion and sumac: heavenly.
The simple innovations are a success: patata harra – with garlic, lemon chilli and cilantro it hits home. The Kadchi kafta required a repeat order they were so good: minced beef skewers with mushrooms, cheese and pistachio, served with tahini sauce, an unusual, fantastic combination. With friendly staff and a stylish interior (where you may even be treated to a belly-dance) Kadchi is a welcome addition to Ibiza Town. Oh: that shawarma was so good we had to try the version in a roll and take it with us!
