In the 1970s, our beloved island was already a favored spot for visits, pleasure and life in general. Its singular style, which was hippie and islander, reflected a unique angle on living. Liberal foreigners and traditional locals mixed and their customs and attitudes rubbed off on one another, giving rise to trends that were totally representative of the “white island.” The streets were the showcase for this particular lifestyle, with people strolling through the port. Fifty years later, this area still hosts a constant parade of passers-by and unique designs from different eras.
Since 1940, Mar y Sol has witnessed all the island’s changes; its growth, its style, the manner in which people stroll through its streets… But what has not changed is this legendary café, which continues to serve excellent food and drink in a wonderful setting. The essence of Ibiza in an authentic Ibizan café.
