“Of all the designs, for me the most special are the Shabbat candles. Every Friday, a few minutes before sunset, my wife lights them. At that moment, a magical transformation takes place: the frenzy of the whole week suddenly stops and we move on to the beautiful tranquility of Shabbat, the holy day. My soul rises and connects with its divine source. While the candles burn brightly, we sit as a family around the Shabbat table and our home is enveloped in an atmosphere of quality and tranquility. When I contemplate these candles my soul is recharged and I get the strength and energy I need for the week ahead.”

“The most beautiful design is the sky. Everything beautiful is manifested in the beauty of the Creator, who attracts us and awakens love while we reject the negative. The duality of the opposite poles in this world is proposed to make us reflect, both on the beauty of youth and on the ugliness of old age. There is beauty in wisdom, while ignorance causes pain and suffering. We also perceive beauty and respond with desire, which contains the seed of pain. However, the beauty of the starry sky in its absolute sublimity is a medicine for the soul overcome by earthly dualisms, to see if it responds to the call of the true designer.”

“For me, the most beautiful design, for which I would also give my life with God’s help, is the cross of Jesus Christ. The cross represents God’s plan to save humanity, wounded by the disobedience of its first parents. This plan that God has to rescue us is known as the story of salvation. A plan that reaches its fullness and fulfillment in our Lord Jesus Christ, in his passion, death on the cross and resurrection. Through the Cross, Jesus Christ reconciles man with God, transforming suffering into redemption. This is why the cross is the most beautiful, true and good design, since it symbolizes salvation and God’s divine love for humanity.”

“The Dalai Lama has initiated the Kalachakra ritual many times around the world, in some way with the goal of establishing the perfect design of life. The Kalachakra Mandala would be the best design for me, because it brings peace and love to the entire planet. It is considered a gift to Mother Earth and a means to revitalize the environment and the universe. Tibetan monks use an ancient practice to paint it with colored grains of sand to represent the world in divine form and to consecrate the earth and heal people. Among its many meanings, it also tells us about the cyclical and continuous process of time and of the elements that work to maintain harmony”.
