The new initiative from the Sant Antoni de Portmany City Council is more than an artistic intervention, it’s the first step in a profound urban and emotional transformation: a regeneration project centered around the work of internationally acclaimed artist Okuda San Miguel.

Art as a statement.

The goal is to reclaim the heart of the West End through art. In collaboration with Okuda, the city is transforming Santa Agnès street into a symbolic carpet where the pavement becomes a vibrant canvas of geometric shapes, bold colors and universal symbols.

A tunnel of color and coexistence.

Above this newly pedestrianized street, fabric sails designed by the artist himself will be installed. A multicolored sky that offers shade, shelter and a sense of identity to the public space – creating an immersive and one-of-a-kind experience for residents and visitors alike. Art you can walk on, live with and share.

More than an artwork – an entire strategy.

This artistic gesture marks the beginning of a comprehensive plan to regenerate the historic center, including a new urban boulevard, grants for business and façade revitalization, and the creation of an open-air cultural space. A friendlier, more diverse, creative and sustainable urban model.

Okuda: art for everyone.

Known for his large-scale installations in cities around the world, Okuda San Miguel turns public spaces into vehicles for reflection, beauty and connection. His abstract language celebrates diversity, the energy of cultural fusion and the transformative power of art as a tool for collective change.
