This year we said farewell to Juan Bonet Ferrer, known as Joan Gerra, founder of the Juan & Andrea restaurant, a paradisiacal spot on Ses Illetes beach in Formentera. Juan passed away on April 19 at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of one of the most renowned establishments on the Pityusic Islands. He founded the restaurant in 1971 alongside the love of his life, Andrea. In the early days, Juan, who was a fisherman, caught the fish and seafood that Andrea would cook at that first beach bar, which at the time could only be reached by sea. What began as a love story turned into a family project, which continues the tradition of offering unique moments for diners to cherish.
