Artist, designer and performer Annabelle Widmann has the keys to the doors of a parallel dimension, one where beings capable of bringing the world of dreams into our reality live. These keys are the talent, creativity and work that can be seen on her performing arts and clothing platform, ellebannA. Her best-known creation is the being called QUANTUM, which saw her tour the world with the Boom Festival and win the Cirque du Soleil Artisan Award in the World of Wearable Art competition in New Zealand.
Born in Ibiza to a family of artists, and trained in England in the creation of costumes and patterns for theater and film, Annabelle is a “multifaceted and visionary” artist who designs and builds her characters, and creates and directs her performances and theatrical productions. The visual impact prompted by her “living sculptures”, beings that seem to have arrived from another dimension, “some playful, others psychedelic, others emotional”, seeks to evoke “emotions, thoughts and disagreement”.
“People are surprised by these beings and the sense of freedom of expression they suggest”, Annabelle tells us. Through her work, she wants to “free your minds and make you appreciate the freak in you, for you to be authentic, but also to wake people up with a message of connection, peace and love, of getting rid of fear and hatred, of these wars and of racism, because we all come from the same place, we are pure energy.”
Her career is currently focused on culture and art with the theatrical project YOUinME, where she creates an immersive space to go beyond a sensory experience, while continuing to evolve with Quantum Physics, a new phase of her project, which is dedicated this time to the “power of the mind”, and is participating in the Aguascopio collective, where they take photos and videos with a drone, fusing synchronized swimming and costumes, and capturing the beauty of Ibiza.
A journey that is in full swing, and where dreams come true and fantasy comes to life.
